mobonomics

In trying to describe the circumstances under which digg made the (courageous) decision to publish with the HD-DVD code at the peril of digg.com, I just jokingly referred to their action as an example of mobonomics -- decision making that values the will of the users on par with or higher than the will of yourself. It's not meant to be a negative term, although there is an recognition that you're not the only one in control here.

In another culture, we might call something like this democracy.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Diggers could get this worked up about something other than free movies? There's a reason our founding fathers opted for a representative democracy rather than a direct one. Thank god these fucktards don't control anything other than the Digg front page...
